Infertility Testings for HIM

Infertility testing for men focuses on examining reproductive health to identify potential issues. These tests evaluate sperm count, motility, and morphology, helping diagnose male factor infertility, a common cause of infertility cases.

Male Infertility Treatment
Surgical Sperm Retrieval

It is a procedure to collect sperm directly from the male reproductive tract. Used in cases of low sperm count. Techniques include: (TESA), (PESA), Micro-TESE

Treatment for Azoospermia

Treatment for Azoospermia focuses on identifying and addressing the cause, with options like hormonal therapy, surgical correction, or sperm retrieval methods.

Surgical Sperm Retrieval

Surgical sperm retrieval is a specialized procedure designed for men with ejaculatory disorders or no sperm in their ejaculate. This advanced technique provides a valuable opportunity to father a biological child through the IVF-ICSI treatment process. It enables the retrieval of viable sperm directly from the reproductive tract, offering hope to couples facing male infertility.

Techniques Used

Techniques Explained

The techniques used for surgical sperm retrieval include:

  • TESA: Sperm is aspirated directly from the testes using a fine needle.
  • PESA:  The sperms are retrieved from epididymis through multiple pricks and fewer sperm are collected.
  • TESE: Small tissue samples are taken from the testes to extract sperm.
  • Micro-TESE: A microsurgical technique to retrieve sperm from tiny testicular tubules.
  • MESA:  It uses surgical microscope to retrieve sperms from epididymis

Treatment for Azoospermia

What is Azoospermia?

Types of Azoospermia

Azoospermia can be classified into three types:

  • Post-testicular Azoospermia: Blockages in the reproductive tract prevent sperm release, despite normal sperm production. It’s the most common type, affecting around 40% of azoospermia cases.

  • Testicular Azoospermia: Poor or no sperm production due to testicular damage or disorders. This is a form of nonobstructive azoospermia.

  • Pretesticular Azoospermia: Normal testicles but insufficient hormonal stimulation for sperm production, often due to chemotherapy or hormone imbalance. This is also nonobstructive.

Azoospermia affects approximately 1% of people assigned male at birth (AMAB) and is responsible for around 10% of infertility cases among men and people AMAB. Identifying the type of azoospermia is crucial for determining the most effective fertility treatment and prognosis for successful conception.
